In August and September 1984 a delegation from the British Trade Union movement and Labour Party visited Chile at the invitation of the Comando nacional de Trabajadores, the united Chilean workers organisation. They brought back a wide ranging impression of life under Pinochet's dictatorship as the Chilean popular organisation, trade unions and democratic movement increase their demands for an immediatee the current experience of Chile's poeple, unbowed after over a decade of brutal repression and once again on the offensive. It argues the case more eloquently than ever for enhanced solidarity from British people to those who struggle for democracy and human right in Chile. |
